{"id":2758,"date":"2017-02-06T20:06:53","date_gmt":"2017-02-07T01:06:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/expertbatiment.ca\/energy-efficiency\/cmhc\/"},"modified":"2025-02-05T10:44:48","modified_gmt":"2025-02-05T15:44:48","slug":"schl","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/expertbatiment.ca\/en\/efficiency\/schl\/","title":{"rendered":"CMHC"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-spacer stk-block-spacer stk--no-padding stk-block stk-8f258cd\" data-block-id=\"8f258cd\"><style>.stk-8f258cd{height:15px !important}<\/style><\/div>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Save on your CMHC mortgage insurance premium.<\/span><\/h3>\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Buyers who apply for a mortgage are required to obtain CMHC mortgage insurance if they do not have a down payment of at least 20% of the total value of the home they wish to purchase.<\/span><\/p>\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For example, a person who buys a $250,000 home with a 5% down payment ($12,500) will have to pay approximately $8550 in mortgage default insurance*, a considerable amount.<\/span><\/p>\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, in order to encourage the purchase of energy efficient homes, CMHC offers a premium rebate of 15% to 25%. In the above case, the reimbursement would be a minimum (15%) of  <\/span><b>1282,50$.<\/b><\/p>\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> <a href=\"https:\/\/expertbatiment.ca\/en\/efficiency\/novo-climate\/\">Novoclimat 2.0<\/a> certified homes are automatically eligible for a 15% rebate of the premium.<\/span><\/p>\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To qualify, other homes must be evaluated by one of our advisors to determine the <a href=\"https:\/\/expertbatiment.ca\/en\/efficiency\/energuide\/\">EnerGuide<\/a> rating. You can therefore obtain your rating by participating in R\u00e9noclimat. In addition, you may be able to get financial assistance for your energy efficiency retrofit.
