This financial assistance allows homeowners to <strong>borrow up to $40,000 interest-free over 10 years for energy-efficiency renovations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>ELIGIBLE WORK<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n<p>This financing is valid for work recommended in advance by an energy efficiency advisor and aimed at improving the following elements of the building:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Insulation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Airtightness<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Doors and windows<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ventilation systems<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Space and water heating systems<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>It also applies to <strong>renovations to<\/strong> low-rise <strong>multi-unit residential buildings<\/strong> (MURBs). The final balance is paid once the renovation work has been completed and verified by a post-retrofit evaluation.<\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>HOW TO BENEFIT FROM THE LOAN FOR GREENER HOMES IN QUEBEC?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You must first <strong>complete a free energy efficiency visit<\/strong> through the <a href=\"https:\/\/expertbatiment.ca\/en\/efficiency\/energy\/\">Renoclimat <\/a>program and wait for your reports, including the advisor&#8217;s recommendations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once you have obtained the reports, you must <strong>register for the loan<\/strong> on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.icpmv.ca\/home\">Government of Canada<\/a> website.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Upon approval, you may receive <strong>an advance of up to 15% of the amount financed<\/strong> to start your renovations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Carry out your work<\/strong>, taking care to keep all your invoices and supporting documents.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once the work has been completed, you must <strong>request an AFTERWORK evaluation<\/strong> from Renoclimat so that an advisor can assess the changes made.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Finally, you must submit the after-work report and supporting documents to the Government of Canada to <strong>receive the balance of your loan<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>CHANGES TO THE RENOCLIMAT PROGRAM AS OF MAY<sup>1,<\/sup> 2024<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n<p>As recently announced, changes to the <a href=\"https:\/\/transitionenergetique.gouv.qc.ca\/residentiel\/programmes\/modifications-apportees-renoclimat-1er-mai-2024\">Renoclimat<\/a> program will take place as of May<sup>1<\/sup>, 2024.
