State exemplarity program

The Mesures d’exemplarité de l’État programprogram, set up by Transition énergétique Québec, is aimed at public bodies and municipalities. The program aims to promote the adoption of stricter energy standards for new buildings and major renovations, by requiring energy performance that exceeds current standards.

Main requirement:

• The buildings concerned must be 10% more energy-efficient than the requirements of the Quebec Construction Code.
